Kenyatta University sought to maintain its dominance in the fourth edition of the KUSA women championship which was hosted at Africa Nazarene University on 7th and 8th March 2015. KU registered teams in all 17 sports disciplines that were on offer during the championship, notably football, volleyball, netball, hockey, basketball, handball, hockey, badminton, tennis, table tennis, chess, scrabble, karate, tae-kwondo, swimming, athletics and softball.
KU extended their lead at the summit of the women’s games after garnering 19 Gold medals and 14 silver medals. The teams won Gold medals in swimming, athletics, table tennis, handball; Silver medals in volleyball, netball, badminton, Tennis, and softball. The other teams finished as semi finalists. The win brings to tally a record 4 time overall winners of the championship having emerged overall winners in the past three editions.
The annual championship whose mission is to promote women sport in universities in Kenya was themed in line with the annual international women’s day “ make it happen” and attracted 25 universities both public and private.
